The security of your data is our top priority, which is why we take seriously every aspect regarding the protection of your personal data.

Starting May 25, 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation), known as GDPR, came into effect. This means that any Controller/entity that processes personal data must apply these new requirements and provide transparent information on how data is being processed.

Given the need to comply with the GDPR provisions, and the fact that we are committed to protecting your personal data (which may include your name, surname, email address, etc., depending on the purpose of processing) held in our database, we inform you that it is used solely to successfully carry out the processes involved in our relationship with you (including but not limited to: booking/sales/order processing, transport and deliveries, customer relationship management).

To improve your online browsing experience, we use cookies that make the www.pixeldentlab.ro website easier to use for visitors. The full list of third-party cookies can be consulted below.

1. WHAT IS A “COOKIE”?

An “Internet Cookie” (also known as a “browser cookie” or “HTTP cookie” or simply “cookie”) is a small file consisting of letters and numbers that is stored on a user’s computer, mobile device, or other equipment from which the Internet is accessed. The cookie is installed by request from a web server to a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox) and is completely “passive” (it does not contain software, viruses, or spyware and cannot access information on the user’s hard drive).A cookie consists of two parts: the name and the content or value of the cookie. Additionally, the lifetime of a cookie is determined; technically, only the server that sent the cookie can access it again when a user returns to the website associated with that web server.Cookies play an important role in facilitating access to and delivery of various services that the user enjoys on the Internet, such as:
  • Customizing settings like: the language in which a website is displayed, the currency used to show certain prices or fees, saving options for various products (quantity, other details, etc.);
  • Cookies provide valuable feedback to website owners on how their websites are used by users, allowing them to make the sites more efficient and accessible;
  • They allow multimedia or other types of applications from other websites to be included in a given website to create a richer, more useful, and enjoyable browsing experience.
Cookies themselves do not require personal information to be used and, in most cases, do not personally identify Internet users.There are two major categories of cookies:
  • Session cookies – these are temporarily stored in the browser’s cookie folder so that the browser remembers them until the user leaves the website or closes the browser window (e.g., when logging in/out of a webmail account or social network);
  • Persistent cookies – these are stored on a computer’s or device’s hard drive (and generally depend on the cookie’s predetermined lifetime). Persistent cookies also include those placed by a website other than the one the user is currently visiting—known as “third-party cookies”—which may be used anonymously to remember a user’s interests so that more relevant advertising can be delivered.

2. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF COOKIES?

Cookies are managed by web servers. The lifespan of a cookie can vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it was placed. Some cookies are used only during a single session (session cookies) and are no longer retained once the user leaves the website, while some cookies are stored and reused every time the user returns to that website (“persistent cookies”). However, cookies can be deleted by a user at any time through the browser settings.In general, the role of cookies is to ensure a fast and easy interaction between users and websites. Cookies are also used to allow users to easily resume their activities during future visits to a previously visited website. Practically, cookies tell the server which pages to display to the user, without requiring the user to remember which pages they have browsed or to navigate the entire site from the beginning.

3. WHY DO WE USE COOKIES?

4. HOW ARE COOKIES USED ON THIS SITE?

Session Cookie
Session cookies are stored on the user’s device during the browsing session. They store an anonymous session identifier, allowing the user to visit a website without having to enter identification information (username, password, etc.) on every page.
Such cookies are commonly used in online stores. For example, when a user visits a certain page and selects products, the cookie remembers the selected items and adds them to the shopping cart, which will contain all selected products when the user decides to leave the page.
Session cookies are stored in the device’s memory only for the duration of a browsing session and are deleted when the browser is closed. They may also become inaccessible if the session has been inactive for a certain amount of time.

Strictly necessary cookies are those we consider essential for the proper functioning of the website and to provide you with a pleasant browsing experience. This list includes:

5. WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS STORED AND ACCESSED THROUGH COOKIES?

Cookies store information in a small text file that allows a website to recognize a browser. The web server will recognize the browser until the cookie expires or is deleted. The cookie stores important information that enhances the Internet browsing experience (for example: the user’s session ID, the referring page, current time, etc.).

6. WHY ARE COOKIES IMPORTANT FOR THE INTERNET?

Cookies are a central element for the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping to create a user-friendly browsing experience tailored to each user’s preferences and interests. Refusing or disabling cookies may render certain websites unusable. Refusing or disabling cookies does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising – it simply means that the ads will no longer be tailored to your preferences and interests, as reflected by your browsing behavior.Examples of important uses of cookies (that do not require user authentication via an account):
  • Content and services customized to user preferences;
  • Offers tailored to user interests – such as language preferences (e.g., displaying search results in Romanian);
  • Delivering more relevant advertising to users;
  • Measurement, optimization, and analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed, and how a user reaches a website (e.g., via search engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites perform these analyses to improve their functionality for the benefit of users.

7. SECURITY AND PRIVACY ISSUES?

Cookies are NOT viruses! They use “plain text” formats. They are not made up of code segments, so they cannot be executed or self-run. As a result, they cannot duplicate or replicate themselves on other networks to be executed or replicated again. Because they cannot perform these functions, they cannot be considered viruses.
However, cookies can be used for malicious purposes. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this and regularly flag cookies for deletion during antivirus/antispyware scanning procedures.

In general, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, lifespan, and automatic deletion after the user has visited a specific site.
See the privacy policy.

To improve the user experience, we use the following technologies:

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our websites and web applications.
For example, we collect details such as the source of the visit and the total number of visitors to our site and apps.
This allows us to determine the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and user activity on our websites and apps.
You can find more details about the Google Analytics privacy policy here: https://support.google.com.

8. HOW CAN I TURN OFF COOKIES?

Disabling and refusing to accept cookies may render certain websites unusable or difficult to visit and use. Also, refusing to accept cookies does not mean you will no longer receive/see online advertising. It is possible to set your browser not to accept cookies or to accept cookies from a specific site. Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that allows users to opt out of being tracked while browsing. Blocking cookies or using the “Do Not Track” mode may block certain functionalities on our websites. All modern browsers offer the option to change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in the “options” or “preferences” menu of your browser. To understand these settings, the following links may be helpful; otherwise, you can use your browser’s “help” option for more details. To learn more about enabling/disabling or deleting cookies in your browser, you can visit: http://www.allaboutcookies.org/.
